Dortmund 1 – 1 Bayern

Jamal Musiala scored a late equalizer for Bayern Munich to deny Borussia Dortmund victory after England’s Jamie Gittens’ stunning solo goal in a 1-1 draw.

Musiala stepped up to the back post and nodded in the equalizer in the 85th minute, ending Dortmund’s 100 per cent Bundesliga home record in the 136th Klassiker match between the two sides.

Leroy Sane came close to Bayern’s success from the start, but it was the home side who opened the scoring with Gittens’ superb strike just after half-time.

Jamie Gittens scored Der Klassiker’s first goal with an excellent solo run and finish.

Nico Schlotterbeck played a measured ball to the Englishman on the left flank just inside his own half, Gittens stepped over the ball and then ran past Konrad Laimer and sent the ball over Manuel Neuer into the corner.

Minutes later, Harry Kane left the field with a suspected hamstring injury and his replacement Thomas Müller failed to convert his chances, having had good chances in each half.

Musiala and Sane missed opportunities in the second half before Musiala headed in substitute Michael Olise’s cross late to give Bayern a share of the spoils.

There will be more to come.
