Avalanche acquires Scott Wedgwood from Predators in exchange for draft pick Justus Annunen

Wedgwood, 32, has appeared in five games for the Predators this season, posting a 1-2-1 record with a .878 save percentage (SV%) and 3.69 goals against average (GAA).

Between 2015 and 2024, he played in 135 career NHL games for Brampton, Ont. Native has a 49-50-23 record with a .905 SV% and 3.01 GAA with the Predators, Dallas Stars, Arizona Coyotes and New Jersey Devils.

Wedgwood was also the Lightning’s Black Ace when they won the Stanley Cup in 2019-20.

Meanwhile, Annunen, 24, has a 6-4-0 record with a 3.23 GAA and 0.872 SV% in 11 games with the Avalanche this season. In 29 career NHL games, the Kempele, Finland native has a 16-9-2 record, 2.81 goals per game and a .902 save percentage.

Annunen spent the majority of his professional career with the AHL’s Colorado Eagles, posting a 60-29-19 record with a .905 save percentage and 2.76 goals per game. Annunen was selected by the Avalanche in the third round of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft.

The Avalanche are 13-11-0 with 26 points, fourth in the Central Division. Despite the slow start, they are 7-3-0 in their last 10 games.

Meanwhile, the Predators are 7-12-5 with 19 points, seventh in the Central Division. Nashville started the season with five straight losses and has lost seven of its last nine games.
