Icons on Pokemon cards have become an integral part of real life. Pokemon TCG for many years with promotional stamps for cards from special themed sets. Mobile application Pokemon TCG Pocket follows suit by offering special in-game promo card packs. These cards can be obtained through special events such as the Venusaur Solo Event or the Wonder Selection event. As much fun as collecting more cards can be, players have one big problem with these promo packs.

You see, while the promotional icon itself is quite suitable for identifying these special cards, the size and placement is a completely different matter. The promotional icon appears right in the right center of the card, which is a great place to create awesome artwork on the cards, like the full Venusaur art that’s currently on offer. In response to this annoying placement of promo badges, players started making jokes about how big the promo badge could be.

In response to this original post, some players joined in the fun by making the icon even larger so that it covered the entire map. Although the real icon is not enough this aggressive one actually appears in the center of the peacefully dormant Venusaur in the new promo card. And with such a beautiful, calming design, it seems a little strange to place an icon right in the middle, taking away from the player’s immersion in the world of the map.

These icons have been there since the app launched, like a quick stroll through the promo card section of the website. Pokemon TCG Pocket the map section will prove it. And this placement mirrors the advertising icons on the physical media. But instead of moving the icon of these fully illustrated cards down, the game leaves them in the same place. Thus, what would normally appear in the corner of a small panel of illustrations becomes a random interruption in the middle of a map image. Here he blocks part of Venusaur’s back and a convenient spot where he naps.

Compared to other desirable illustration cards in Pokemon TCG Pocketthat come without promotional markings, the problem is quite obvious. The promo icon in its current form simply makes the cards less pleasing to the eye. Like those who have folders of physical Pokemon cards, many collectors come here to look at the pretty pictures, and when these promotional pins end up front and center in the artwork, it’s a bit of an odd move.

Although this may be a small complaint compared to other players’ complaints about Pocket TCG Pokemon, however, it is valid. With so many interesting and unique Pokemon images available, players don’t want their fun to be interrupted by less attractive icons that can prove the card’s rarity, but at the expense of its aesthetics.
